UNIMED Message

UNIMED, over the course of its thirty-year history, has fostered intercultural dialogue and international cooperation as tools to overcome the divisions that unfortunately fuel our societies.

Talking about all this today seems challenging in front of the images that reach our eyes, which shock our minds and our hearts. UNIMED endorses the appeal of the United Nations Secretary General.

Hatred, violence, war, violation of international law lead to no solution except further exacerbation. Continuing in this way, people of good will will be led to give in, to walk away and thus only the extremists on both sides will remain until their final mutual destruction. We cannot and must not allow this to happen.

Despite everything, it is necessary to make room for a political solution that recognizes Israeli citizens and Palestinian citizens to live in peace and freedom with full rights and dignity.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all the victims and their families of this crisis.
